END TIMES
Fact & Fiction
October 9-12, 2011
With "End Times: Fact & Fiction", Brother North responds to so much we hear today about a rapture, anti-christs,
Armageddon, a thousand-year reign, setting dates for Christ’s return, and more. It is really important for us to understand the Bible on these topics so we are
not drawn into false teaching on these topics.
Brother North brings to light the prophecies of the Bible in the language and thought world of ancient Judiasm and in the context of the rest of the Scriptures.
While much of the Scripture is revealed in very straight forward language, prophecy is more like poetry, both ancient and modern, in that it is full of figurative speech and symbolic
expressions. Our role as students of the Bible is as discoverers of the meaning that God placed in His Word with the words He chose to reveal His Will. If we only read using 21st
Century American eyes, understanding Scripture only in terms of American expressions, we do God's Word an injustice and miss out on much of the beauty, the majesty and the message
of His prophecies.
The chart below diagrams the basic scheme of prophecy that Brother North discusses and corrects.
